Mrs Carolyn Sue Cox's Obituary
Mrs. Carolyn Sue Huff Cox, age 85, of Cosby, passed away Sunday morning, December 18, 2022 at her home. She now awaits the resurrection.
She was a charter member of McGaha’s Chapel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Earnie Cox; parents Charlie and Anna Bea Huff; sister Ila Fern Hurst and brother-in-law Clifford Hurst and brother, Billy Huff.
Survivors include a daughter of her heart, Donna McGaha of Cosby; great-niece Katandra McGaha who Carolyn loved dearly; great-great-niece Abby Roach who was like a granddaughter and shared a special bond with Carolyn; sister Charleen (Jerry) Dunn; brother Charlie Huff; a very special aunt Ellen Ambrose; several cousins including Pasty Breeden and Carroll Ambrose who were considered as a sister and brother and Christopher Breeden who was considered more as a nephew. Additional survivors include step-children Mary Cox and James Cox; step- grandchildren Crystal Cox and Amanda Cox and several nieces and nephews including special nephews Jerry Dunn, Adam Dunn and Ryan Dunn.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rickey Hurst, who after losing his own mother, considered Carolyn “Mommie” and she called him “Sonnie”. They loved each other dearly. Also, thank you also to Linda Ramsey, Amedisys Hospice and to Lindsey Henderson for their care of Carolyn and to McGaha’s Chapel Church for all the calls, text and food.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Kyker Cemetery with Rev. David Newman, Rev. Rickey Hurst and Rev. James Williamson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:15 p.m. at Kyker Cemetery for the 2:30 p.m. Graveside service.
