A true Tennessean. Always enjoyed spending time in his barber shop. If it was a slow day he would play his Martin guitar and sing a song for you. He was one of the original Tennessee Valley Boys bluegrass band back in the day. I shot this photo the year he retired. Edsel was a long way from being short. Lived a full life to be envied.

I’m so sorry to hear that Mr Hall passed away. Daddy ( Tom O’ Dell ) really liked Edsel. He cut his hair FOR LOTS OF YEARS. I remember he use to play music at the Barber Shop. He sure was a good, happy, friendly man. Edsel sure will be missed. I will never forget his smile. Rest in peace my friend. I am praying for his family. ♥️

I am so sad to hear this. Mr Hall was the 1st person to cut my son's hair as he sat on my daddy's lap. I video taped it. He is 35 now. Mr Hall was a kind gentle man, may he rest in peace with his beloved.
Edsel was a fine barber, friend and a remarkable musician. This world just doesn't make 'em that way anymore. He was kind and generous and has already been missed greatly by the Del Rio community after his move to Kentucky. Rest in peace Edsel.

I am proud to say USMC vet Edsel Hall was my good friend for 20 years. I had many good times at his shop and then later in his home after he retired. He had seen a lot living in Del Rio, South Carolina and Detroit and he taught me a lot. I missed seeing him when he had to move to Louisville as his health declined.He loved his wife ,his country ,his family and the Corps. Semper Fi my friend ---I miss you. Bill Shults
