Mr Edsel Willis Hall's Obituary
Mr. Edsel Willis Hall, age 92, of Del Rio, passed away Monday morning, December 5, 2022 at Baptist Health Louisville in Louisville, KY.
Edsel was born on November 15, 1930 to Hayden Odell and Sallie Mae Willis Hall in Del Rio, TN. After serving in the U.S. Marines and relocating from Michigan back to his beloved Tennessee Home, He opened Edsel’s Barber Shop in Newport where he barbered for many years. He enjoyed friends both old and new, dropping by for the latest news or to bring their instruments and play a few of their favorite bluegrass songs.
Edsel met and married Roseann Stetz in Michigan and they were married 63 years prior to her passing in January of 2020.
He was preceded in death by his wife Roseann Hall; father Hayden Odell; mother Sallie Mae Freeman; sisters Nellie “Tot” Bailey and Berlie Bates and brother JL Hall.
He is survived by his brother Floyd (Brenda) Hall of Louisville, KY, Lloyd Hall of Simpsonville, SC and sisters, Arbelle Leah Roach and Eleanor Braun both of Michigan.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2022 in the Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Fred Cagle officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Friday at Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Home prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Friday afternoon at Jonestown Cemetery for the 2:00 p.m. interment when Edsel will be laid to rest with his beloved Roseann. Military honors provided by Newport American Legion Post 41.
