Mrs. Annalesa "Annie" Woody's Obituary
Mrs. Annalesa “Annie” Woody, age 65, formerly of Hartford, passed away, Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in Austin, Texas after a short bout with cancer.
Annalesa was born in Newport on August 28, 1952. She was raised in the Grassy Fork community having professed her Christian faith at an early age at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. For the past forty years, she has called Austin her home away from home where she developed lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Paul Woody; grandparents Dewey and Ester Hill Ford, D.C. and Mary Seay Woody; a special uncle Joe R. Ford and a special friend Pat Burrow.
Survivors include her husband Arthur Rodney Thompson of Austin; mother Mary Ford “M.E” Woody; brother Claradon “Buster” Woody of Hartford; special aunt Claraene Pack of Del Rio; special friend (like sisters) Bobby, Babe, Dorcas, Jennifer and Sue all of Texas, Colette of Florida and Ernie of Nashville. Additional survivors include many cousins and friends too numerous to mention.
A celebration of life will be held in Austin, Texas on May 19, 2018. A celebration of life and memorial service will be set on a later date here in Tennessee prior to an interment at Union Cemetery in Newport where there is a family plot.
