Charles Ray "Charlie" Buckner, 51, of Newport, passed away early Saturday, November 21, 2015, at the St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Buckner and grandmother, Stella Gibson.He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Buckner, daughters, Kristin and Katie Buckner, brother Carroll (Doris) Buckner all of Newport, sister, Teresa (Pat) Portrum of Morristown, girlfriend, Tammie Helton and her daughter, Macie of Newport, nephew, Darren Brooks, of Morristown, and niece, Nicole Portrum of Bluffton, IN. He also enjoyed the company of many aunts and uncles.In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the family.The family will receive friends Friday, November 27, 2015 from 4pm-6pm with a Memorial to follow at 6pm with Pastor Wayne Wyatt officiating.Online condolences may be sent to www.brownfuneralhomenewport.comBrown Funeral Home is honored to serve the Buckner family.
