Mrs Edith Darlene Ball's Obituary
Mrs. Edith Darlene Pruitt Ball age 72, of Newport, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 1, 2023 at Newport Convalescent Center.
She was member of the Parrottsville Quilting Club. She enjoyed baking and made her cakes from scratch. She will be remembered by many students as a substitute teacher with the Cocke County School System.
She was preceded in death by her sons Jimmy Ball and Bradley Ball; daughters Melissa Ball and Lorri Ball; husband Brady Ball; parents Ganie and Alice Pruitt; sisters Gertrude Belcher and Helen Moore and brother Charlie Pruitt.
Survivors include her daughter Melanie (Russell) Holt of Newport; nieces Wanda Myers and Casey (Casey “Boy”) Southerland all of Newport. Additional survivors include several cousins and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, January 5, 2023 in the Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ben Watts officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Friday at Inman Cemetery for the 10:00 a.m. interment. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Home prior to the service.
