Floyd T. McGaha age 88 of Newport died Tuesday morning at the Newport Medical Center.He was a lover of nature, animals, Atlanta Braves and UT football.He was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude McGaha, Parents James Isaac and Mary Cagle McGaha. Brothers Jess, Hugh, Charles and Gene McGaha, sisters Evelyn Keck and Step sister Joyce McGaha and Step-Mother Ollie McGaha,He is survived by daughter Bettie McGaha Sweeten of Newport, grandchildren Shawn and Brandi Sweeten of Chesnutt Hill, Scott and Diana Sweeten of San Diego, CA, Michael and Sheri Sweeter of Talbott. Great grandchildren, Trevor, Mark, Elizabeth, Jacob, Lucas and Sidney Sweeten.Sister Bessie (Clint) Johnson of Sharps Chapel, step Brother Roy (Arlene) McGaha of Newport. Sister in law Jewell (Harold) Byrd of Newport and Joe and Pauline Duckett.Special Nephew and wife Donnie and Margaret Williams of Newport, Special Care Giver Joy Fine. Also several other nieces and nephews.The family would like to say a special thank you to Pastor Darrell Williams for the love and care he has given Daddy for the last several years. Family and friends will meet at the Resthaven Memorial Garden at 10:45 for graveside service at 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Darrell Williams officiating..Brown Funeral Home is honored to serve the McGaha Family.
