Mr. George Junior Shelton's Obituary
Mr. George Shelton, age 66, of Newport, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Physicians Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his mother Ethel May Stokely; father George W. Shelton; brothers Harvey Shelton, Howard Lee Shelton and Eldridge Shelton.
Survivors include his sons John David Shelton and Chad Shelton both of Newport, daughter Angela McClain of GA, grand children Ariel Hurd and Jacob Hurd both of VA, April Hill, John David Shelton, Jr. and Gracie Lynn South all of Newport, sisters Retha J. Frazier, Lorene Gentry, Tilda Marie Stokely, Vera Luster Frazier, Edith Saylor and Vergie May Brown all of Newport. Additional survivors includ his loving companion Kay Nabors of Newport and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A graveside will be held 2:00pm Thursday, June 28, 2017 at White’s Cemetery with Rev. R.V. Maynard officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:30am until 1:30pm Thursday at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
