Obituary
Imogene Freeman Leatherwood, age 84 of Newport, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022 at Tennova Newport Medical Center.
She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother; who delighted in her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Olan, with whom she shared more than 57 years of marriage; as well as her parents, Ernest & Ruth Freeman; and her sister, Alma Lee.
She is survived by her son, Terry; niece, Pamela Williams; nephew, Ronald Lee; great-niece, Autumn Diamond; great grand-nephew, Ethan Diamond; close friend, Larry Sutton; her long-term caregiver, Amber Broyles; many friends; and several extended family members. The family would like to extend special thanks to the caring staff of Tennova Newport Convalescent Center as well as Tennova Newport Medical Center.
A visitation will be held from 5PM to 7PM Friday, June 3, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place at 10AM Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Dandridge.
