Obituary
J. B. Conard, of Cosby, born June 6, 1938, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 He was a Veteran of the US Airforce, a member of Cosby Missionary Baptist Church, a faithful 41 year employee of the Newport Electric System, a member of the Ruritan Club of Cosby, instrumental in the Ramp Festival, a faithful lifetime member of the Newport Rescue Squad, a friend of the Chamber of Commerce of Newport. He also dedicated countless hours to volunteer work all over Cocke County for various events, fundraisers, community projects and anything more he could do to help with the church, the community and storms.He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Blaine and Myrtle Conard, , brother, Glen Conard, niece Melissa Hale Brooks, and nephew, Danny Roy McGaha and family.He is survived by his daughter, Crystal (Sean) Lane, and grandson Dawson Lane of Newport, son Jeff Conard, grandchildren Bryson and Anniston Conard,of Cosby, special friend, Janette Teague, brothers, Dale (Janice) Conard of Waynesville NC, Bobby (Brenda),Conard of Cosby, Wayne Conard of Jamestown, TN, sisters, Lorane (Mike) Runyan of Newport, Myrna (Chuck) Livesay of Church Hill, Karen (Jake) Hale of Parrottsville, Rebecca (Danny) McGaha of Bybee, special family, Brittany (mother of Bryson) and Charlie Hall, Braydon, Coven, and Cayson, close friends, Terry (Brenda) Stuart, Steve York, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of extended friends and family, too numerous to mention.The family would like to extend a special appreciation to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for treating him like family with their loving care with a special "thank you" to Ashley Weeks, his nurse and granddaughter of the heart, the CNAs who cared for him, Elana O'Brian and Rachel Webb. Also the family wishes to extend a special "thanks" to Tammy Ford, Kay Hawk, and Diane Askew for caring for our dad in his last days.The family will receive friends Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 4:00pm with Rev. Sherman Ball, Rev. Cleo Williamson, Bro. Chuck Livesay, and Bro. Mike Runyan.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Feed My Sheep Ministries.Brown Funeral Home is honored to serve the Conard family.
