Mr. Jack Ruble Pack Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Jack Ruble Pack Sr., age 80, of Del Rio, passed away Saturday afternoon, February 7, 2015 at Tennova Newport Convalescent Center after battling lung cancer.
Jack was a talented musician that could play any instrument he picked up and loved picking bluegrass with the band. He was an avid fisherman and he loved to play golf and spend time with his grandchildren. He worked for 22 years at Emerson Electric and later he retired from Quaker Oats. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife Irolla Ball Pack, parents Noah and Kate Fish Pack, step mother Altha Click Pack, sisters Jewelene Ball and Gladys Turner and brother Frank L. Pack.
Survivors include sons Carroll (Sheila) Pack of Parrottsville, Jack (Delauna) Pack Jr. of Dandridge; grandchildren Dr. Jared Pack and his fiancée Chelsea Dennis, Zachary Pack, Ashlee Pack and Aubree Pack; brothers J.C. (Peggy) Pack of Denton and Everett (Irene) Pack of Del Rio, sister-in-law Clarene Pack. Additional survivors include members of the Ball family and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special friends Shawn and JoAnn Gannon and family at French Broad Outpost; musician friends Tim Lunsford, Larry Hartsell, Gary Hartsell, Johnny Messer, Haskell Dockery and Edsel Hall; special friends Andy Hauser, Ronald Campbell and Larry Flatt.
The funeral service will be held 8:00 pm Tuesday evening, February 10, 2015 in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Max Phillips officiating. The family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Wednesday February 11, 2015 at the Mt. Zion Cemetery (Sand Hill) for the 11:00 am interment.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday evening. at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
