James Campbell, age 91, of Newport, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017.He was a WWII Veteran with the U.S. Army, a member of Bridgeport FWB Church, and a lifetime member of the Newport Rescue Squad.He was preceded in death by his wife, Lessie Rowland Campbell, parents, Jake and Nina Clodfelter Campbell, brothers, Harold and Alvin Campbell, and sisters, Margaret Smith and Inez Ball.He is survived by his sons, Ronald Campbell and Randall Campbell, daughters, Janice (Gary) Woody and Sherri (Phil) Gregg, grandchildren, Ammie (Roby) Vansant, Melissa (Joe) Ponder, Brooke (Tyler) Grahl, and Collin Woody, great grandchildren, Jaydyn and Johanah Ponder, Sariah Vansant, and Ella Grahl, sister, Marie (J.C.) Hill, and host of extended family and friends.The family will receive friends Friday, April 7, 2017 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 7:00pm with Pastors, Dennis Caldwell, Tim Carson, and Keith Presnell officiating. Burial will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2:00pm at Resthaven Memorial GardenBrown Funeral Home is honored to serve the James Campbell family.
