James ( Jimmy ) R. Bice's Obituary
Mr. James Roe “Jimmy” Bice age 53, of Cosby Born December 20, 1960, Passed into Heaven on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Newport Medical Center.
Jimmy worked as executive chef, over 25 years in various kitchens in Sevier County. He was employed by Ripley’s Aquarium until his health prevented him from working. He was avid sports fan and loved his Crimson Tide. He had accepted Jesus as his Savior and attended Holder’s Grove Baptist Church when his health permitted.
He is survived by his daughter Amanda (Jason) Barnes of Seymour, Son Jimmy Wayne Bice of Sevierville and granddaughters Jacey Bice and Valory Bice of Sevierville. Parents Wayne and Faye Bice of Cosby. Sister Michelle Bice and Brother Stephen (Angie) Bice all of Cosby. Nephews Matthew and Travis, Aunts Wilma Grayson Wilson of Newport, and Anne Cofer of Birmingham, Ala. Uncles Oneal, Benny, Buery Brice all of Jenison, Ala. And mother of his children Penny Bice Taylor of Knoxville.
The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, December 27, 2013 in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Zane Stuart and Pastor Randall Freeman officiating. The family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Saturday December 28, 2013 at Waters-Large Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. interment. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 4450 Walker Blvd., Knoxville, TN.
