James Walter Mooneyham, age 84, of Newport, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016.He was preceded in death by his father and mother Walter and Mamie Lucille (Hawk) Mooneyham and brother Edward Mooneyham.He is survived by his brothers Marcus Mooneyham of Newport and Denver Mooneyham of Talbott, and sisters Elizabeth Wilhoit and Sarah Jean Shepard of Greeneville, Gwendolyn Gregg of Newport, and Sammie Kate Cook of California City, California.He is also survived by his wife Norma Jean Mooneyham, sons James Russell Mooneyham, Donald Wade Mooneyham (Kathi), Randall Wayne Mooneyham (Denise), and Gordon Scott Mooneyham (Beverly; daughters Connie Lisa Mooneyham (Roger Schaeffer) and Jeanie Maureen Mooneyham Ribble (Scott), and grandchildren Macey Patrice Brown (Derek), Jake Hunter Mooneyham, Austin Wayne Mooneyham, Matthew James Mooneyham, Michael Scott Mooneyham, and Zachary John Ribble.He was a member of Newport Church of Christ, worked at Stokely/Quaker/Hunts/ConAgra food processing plant from 1951 to 1996, was an adept handyman in an amazing array of fields, and much beloved by his family, friends, and community.A Celebration of Life meeting in remembrance of him will be held at 6:00 p.m. August 8, 2016, at Newport Church of Christ.
