John David Proffitt, age 77, of Cosby, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, March 12, 2018.He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenna Holt Proffitt, parents, Gordon and Willa Mae Proffitt, and brother, Dale Proffitt.He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Randall) Sutton and Melissa Leanne (Daniel) Warpool, grandchildrend, Johnathan David Proffitt and Gaylen (Michael) Garrett, great grandchildren, Levi and Blake Garrett, brothers, Wesley (Kay) Proffitt and Glen (Linda) Proffitt, sisters, Jane (Don) Huskey, Ruth Krauss, and Norma Faye (Galey) Hester, several nieces and , and cousin and special friend, Ray Proffitt.The family will receive friends Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Bradley’s Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Clay Sutton officiating. Burial will take place after funeral in the Proffitt Cemetery off Rocky Flats Road in Cosby.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Proffitt Cemetery Fund in c/o Linda Sutton- 1332 Rocky Flats Rd Cosby, TN 37722.Brown Funeral Home is honored to serve the Proffitt family.
