Mrs. Juanita Ruth Raines' Obituary
Mrs. Juanita Ruth Raines, age 79, of Newport, passed away Monday morning, November 7, 2022 at home.
She was preceded in death by her husband Allen Raines, Jr.; daughter Nancy Frazier; sons T.J. Raines and Darrell Raines; granddaughter Vickie Raines Sturgill; parents Edna and Frank Stokely; brothers Bob Stokely and Donnie Stokely and sister Margaret Raines.
Survivors include her daughters Geneva (Brian) Smelcer and Shaleen Raines; sons James (Linda) Raines, Ronnie Raines and Donnie (Betty) Raines all of Newport; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson and sister Betty Barnes of Newport. Additional survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice.
The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, November 10, 2022 at Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Watts officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Friday at Union Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. interment. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friend from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Costner-Maloy and Brown Funeral Home prior to the service.
