Mrs. Lillian Teague Shults, age 80, of Newport, passed away Monday evening, October 16, 2023 at her home.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Denise Shults Kelley; parents Raymond and Elizabeth Lane Teague; mother and father-in -law Ivan and Mary Lee Shultz; brothers Wade Hall, Troy Teague and Vernon Teague and sisters Dorothy Shaver and Ella Rae McCoig.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years Roger Shults; sons Lynn (Lisa) Shults, Maurice (Debbie) Shults and daughter Deborah (Timmy) Williams; grandchildren Stephen (Amy) Shults, Daniel (Taylor) Shults, Travis (Carrie) Williams, Megan (Brooks) Wilson, Joshyua Shults and Angie (Bill) Templin; great grandchildren Anthony, Lily and Margaret Williams, Claire and Anna Wilson, Ivan, Kara and Kayleigh Shults, Hunter and Weston Shults, Caleb Barnes, Noah and Raven Templin; sister Nannie Mae James and sister-in-law and special friend Glenda Mayfield whom Lillian loved as a sister.
The family would like to express a special thank you to neighbors and friends Mary Bryant and April Ball for the humble prayers and songs; Tommy and Ann Frazier, Mike and Pam Hannon and Steve and Jackie Blanchard for their friendship and support and the staff of Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice.
The family and friends will meet at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, October 18, 2023 at Shults Cemetery on Robert E. Lee Drive for the 2:30 p.m. graveside service with Rev. Doug Messer and Brother Harry Shultz officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Lillian.
