Lois Bible Finchum, age 84, of Del Rio passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Newport Health & Rehabilitation. She was a member of Del Rio First Church of God and was an educator for over 40 years in Cocke County. She taught at Newport Grammar, Del Rio and many other schools in Cocke county.She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Darrell Finchum; parents Tilman and Celestion Bible; brother Oris Bible and infant brother Hershel Bible.She is survived by her daughters Daira (Greg Weller) Finchum and Tammy (Marvin) Norwood; sons Duane Finchum and Dwight (Tammy) Finchum; grandchildren Sean Newsome, Karrie Newsome, Nicole Davis, Emily Finchum, Tennille Coakley, Cory Norwood, Trevor Finchum and Michelle Finchum; great grandchildren Ashley Newsome, Jennifer Newsome, Brittany Coakley, Aaron Coakley, Blake Daniels, Landon Daniels, Bryson Ellison and Jayden Finchum; brother Joseph M. Bible; several nieces and nephews; special friends Martha Grigsby Holt and Allison Lovell and care givers Stacey and Vanessa; and the many students that she shared her home and family with. A celebration of her life will be 3:00 PM Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Del Rio First Church of God with Pastor Todd St. John officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00- 3:00 PM prior to the service. A graveside service will follow in Crowder Cemetery, Del Rio. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Marie Ellison Memorial Library, Del Rio, TN.
