Ms Marlin Doris Ownby's Obituary
Ms. Marlin D. Ownby, age 79, of Newport, passed away Sunday morning, March 26, 2023 at her home.
She was of the Baptist Faith and attended West End Baptist Church when her health permitted.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ross and Dixie Ownby; sister Barbara France; brothers Oscar France, Jerry Ownby, Tom Ownby, Clayton Ownby and Roger (Judy) Ownby.
Survivors include her sons Michael (Diane) Ownby and Bryan (Donna) Ownby; grandchildren Randi Ownby, Stephanie Ball, Nick Davis and Meghan (Alan) Biggs; great-grandchildren Kenyon Biggs, Essence Biggs, Emmalou Biggs, Jasper Biggs and Lucyan Biggs; brother Donnie (Mary Ann) Ownby and sister Susie Ownby. Additional survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special friends Ronnie, Mary, Tooter and Jimmy “Hippy” Fine.
The family will host a Celebration of Life Service at a later date. Interment will be in Stokely’s Chapel Memorial Garden.
