Obituary
Martha Cleo Swaney, age 84 of Hot Springs, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at The Brian Center in Weaverville, NC.
She will be remembered as a loving mother & grandmother who loved cooking and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey & Verna Wills; husband, Clifford Swaney; daughters, Linda Cutshall & Mary Roach; great-granddaughter, Willow Bentley; siblings, Alonzo & Wayne Wills and Viola West, Roberta Wills, Carolina Gentry; and son-in-law, Y.J. Parton.
She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Parton (AJ Shelton); grandchildren, Matilda (Gavin), Travis (Brittany), Macon, Ronnie (Chris), Nick (Ashlee), Jessica (Travis); great-grandchildren, Bethany, Letty, Anna, Roselyn, Grace, Andrew, & Ryan; siblings, Shirley, Pauline, Eugene, & Lloyd (Nina); sister-in-law, Jane; sons-in-law, R.J. & Gene; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the compassionate staff at The Brian Center, who lovingly cared for Ms. Swaney for the past three years.
Pastor Randy Wood will officiate the funeral ceremony, which will be held at 7PM Monday, March 7, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5PM to 7PM prior to the service. Burial will take place at 12 Noon, Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Swaney Family Cemetery in Hot Springs.
