Mrs Phyllis Caroline Seay's Obituary
Mrs. Phyllis Caroline Kelley Seay, age 82, of Del Rio, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, January 8, 2023 at Jefferson Park at Dandridge.
Phyllis was born on February 29, 1940 in Bell County, Kentucky to Roy E. Kelley and Velma Burgin Kelley. She was a true coal miner’s daughter. After having moved to Del Rio, TN with her parents, she went on to marry Olson Seay in 1960. They had three sons named Jeffery, Anthony and Derick and a very special family member Turley Crisp of Michigan. During her Christian Life, she had a passion for her family along with cooking and sewing. Phyllis and Olson had a dairy farm for many years and shared their love of farming and gardening together.
She was preceded in death by her husband Olson Seay; mother Velma Kelley and father Roy E. Kelley; sister Reba Stokely and brothers Austin “Buck” Kelley and Sonny Kelley.
Survivors include her sons Jeffery ( Bette) Seay, Anthony (Mitzi) Seay and Derick (Robin) Seay; granddaughters Kristina (J.W.) Voiles and Kimberly (Ricky) McDaniel; grandsons Patick O’Brien, Brandon Ball, Hunter Seay, Terry (Chikako) Cutshaw and Johnathon (Terry) Cutshaw; great-grandchildren Hayden O’Brien, Hannah O’Brien, Brayden Seay, Caisyn McDaniel, Kipton Justice, Brantley McDaniel, Winston Cutshaw, Daisy Cutshaw, Ethan Cutshaw and Jackson Cutshaw; sister Wilma (Earl) Seay, sister-in-law Karen Kelley and brother-in-law Ray Stokely. Additional survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends for which she held a special place in her heart.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Jefferson Park at Dandridge and the staff of Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for giving such special love and care.
The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, January 10, 2023 in the Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phillip Biggs officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Friday at Jonestown Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. interment. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Home prior to the service.
