Ralph Edward Shelton's Obituary
Obituary
Ralph Edward Shelton, age 75 of Morristown (formerly of Bearden), entered his Heavenly home on the evening of Monday, March 15, 2021.
A proud Veteran of the United States Army, Ralph served his country during the Vietnam War Era. A patriotic soul, he truly loved our flag and the freedom it represents. He was a Christian of the Baptist faith, devoted husband, loving father, and avid camping and auto enthusiast. A strong and kind man of few words, Ralph dearly valued his relationships with friends and family, and regularly enjoyed good food and laughter.
Ralph retired from a career as a meat cutter and member of the United Food & Commercial Workers Union. Having worked for many years at Kroger locations throughout the Knoxville area, he later moved west to Nevada, returning to East Tennessee in 2012.
He is survived by his wife of over 46 years, Patricia Anne (Poe) Shelton; daughter, Angela Renee Shelton; and “daughter of the heart”, Lisa Burchell; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Horace & Martha Jean and brother, Mark.
With military honors, Mr. Shelton will be laid to rest at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the committal service will be small and private.
