Richard Earl Spriggs age 70 of Cosby died Saturday March 9, 2013 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Gertrude Spriggs, son Richard Earl Spriggs Jr., sisters Evelyn Smith, Susie Payne, and Daisy Mae Spriggs. He is survived by his wife Martha Luella Spriggs of Cosby. Grandchildren Natasha Spriggs of Cosby, Brittany Spriggs of Newport, and Richard Earl "Ricky" Spriggs III of Newport. Daughter in law Patricia Spriggs of Newport. Brother Charles Edward Spriggs Jr. of Cosby. Sisters Iva Lee Kloster of North Dakota, Jean Jenkins of Cosby, Martha Brent of Texas, and Margret Cooper of Knoxville. Sons of love Lacy Shults of Kodak and Tim Bryant of Newport. Others special friends include Willie Stokely and Phillip Birchfield Family and friends will meet at a graveside service on Thursday March 14, 2013 at 1:45PM at the Spriggs Family Cemetery for a 2:00PM service. Friends may pay their respects by visiting the Brown Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 9:00AM until 5:00PM.
