Mr Roy E. Cureton's Obituary
Mr. Roy Evertette Cureton, age 70, of Newport, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.
He was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. Mr. Cureton was a member of Old time Gospel Church. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and a member of the DAV LCPL C. Roberts # 102.
He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Willa Mae Cureton; daughter Cindy Cureton; step son Freddie Laws and brother Harry Cureton.
Survivors include his wife Lillian “Tank” Cureton of the home; daughter Lora (David) Love of Dandridge; step son Russell Laws of Newport; daughters-in-law Teresa Laws of Newport and Erin Laws of Parrottsville; son-in-law Heath Gregg of Newport; grandchildren Jacob Gregg of Knoxville, Catherine Gregg, Heather Gregg, Nicholas Laws (Jamie Breeden), Hannah Laws (Cole Shepherd) and Aaron Laws all of Newport, Stephen Laws of Kodak, Anastasia Laws and Benjamin Laws both of Parrottsville; great grandchildren Easton Shepherd and Sawyer Shepherd both of Newport; brothers Samuel (Paulette) Cureton and Jimmy (Cindy) Cureton all of Newport and Allen (Rose) Cureton of Morristown; a special friend John “Taz” Wiedmann of Newport.
The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday afternoon, March 11, 2019 in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Ball officiating. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friend from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday at Costner-Maloy prior to the service.
