Mr. Roy Burr Lewis' Obituary
Mr. Roy Burr Lewis, age 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Chestnut Hill on Thursday, November 23, 2017 and joined his beloved wife Stella in heaven. He had been in declining health for several years. He was retired from Bush Brothers in Chestnut Hill and was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a lifelong member of West End Baptist Church where he attended every service as long as his health permitted. He was a long time farmer and loved his specials trips to Cherokee, NC trout fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife Stella Lewis; son Herman Coleman and grandson Josh Coleman.
Survivors include his son Ronny (Kay) Coleman; grandsons Chad (Misty) Coleman, Todd Coleman (Lynn & Halle Bibee); great granddaughter Skyler Hembree; Sister-in-law Polly (Ray) Manning; brother-in-law Ralph (Sharon) Ramsey and sister-in-law Charlene Ramsey. Also several nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his extended family and special friend / caregiver Wilma Henry and little caregiver five year old Jayden “Little Bit” White who enjoyed having tea parties with Mr. Burr. Bobbi, Haylee and Ashley White, known to them as “Mr. Burr”. Tony and Kim Clevenger.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, November 25, 2017 in the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Gorrell officiating. Interment will be in Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by Greene County Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home prior to the service.
