Mrs. Shelby Jean Presnell's Obituary
Mrs. Shelby Jean Presnell, age 85, of Newport, passed away Thursday morning, August 17, 2023 at her home.
She was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church. She was a very special, loving mother, grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mark Presnell; father and mother Bob and Cara Ford; father-in-law and mother-in-law Lindsey and Rhoda Presnell; 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
Survivors include her sons Randall Presnell and Chad Presnell both of Newport; grandchildren Jr., Shenna, Chelsy, Travis and Leslie; great grandchildren Ayla, Markus, Jayden, Anslee, Matthew, Avery, Harley and Julyssa; sisters-in-law Shirley Griffith, Cora Mae Holt, Mikie Harri, Lois Presnell and Pauline Presnell and brothers-in-law Britt Davis and Kermit Griffith. Addittional survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Travis Presnell, Melinda Nelson, Elizabeth Ervin and Arlene Worley; Tammy and Jabo Francis, the staff of Smoky Mountain Hospice and nurses Leticia and Lana and Jabo’s Pharmacy.
The funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday evening, August 21, 2023 in the Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ben Watts officiating. The family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday morning at Union Cemetery for the 10:00 a.m. interment. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday evening at Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral home prior to the service.
