Ms. Shirley May Messer Waters, age 80, of Morristown, passed away Monday evening, October 31, 2022 at Newport Health and Rehabilitation. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by parents William Ernest Messer and Read Obituary

Aunt Shirley was more than a aunt to me. She was a dear friend. She loved gravy and biscuits. Also, she had a sweet tooth, and she loved her coffee. We would talk for hours and laugh over such simple things. We talked about the Lord many times, and wondered what He thought about the craziness going on in the world. II Corthians 5:8, We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. I know; Aunt Shirley is where she wanted to be, with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I will miss her greatly, but until we meet again, Aunt Shirley, I love you. Susie Day Burden
