Mr. Walter Bernard Gregg Jr. age 62, of Greeneville, passed away May 24, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at home surrounded by his loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his mother Betty Jo Gregg; father Walter (Andy) Bernard Gregg Sr. and a very special weenie dog “Dinky”.
He is survived by his wife of 42 ½ years Patricia Charlene Gregg; daughter Crystal Gregg; son Jonathan (Heather) Gregg; grandsons Eli Coakley, Ethan Coakley, Shawn Ownby, Gabe Gregg and Waylon Gregg; sisters Betty Jane Gregg, Phyllis Hale and Rita (Rick) Peters; sister-in-law Lisa Hensley and a very special friend Bea Jordan. Additional survivors include several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Brown’s Chapel Church with Rev. Randall Frisbee officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The casket will lie in state from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Home.
Eli Coakley, Ethan Coakley, Gary Gregg, Shawn Ownby, Rick Peters and Bosco Reaves will serve as pallbearers.
Uncle Johnny Sane, John Paul Sane, Freddy Wayne Hale, David Neas, Jordy Clark, Allen Cureton, James Peters, Gabe and Waylon Gregg will serve as honorary pallbearers.
