Obituary
Wanda F. Holt, age 82, of Newport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 15, 2019. She was saved at a young age and was a life-long member of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church. For many years, Wanda and her two sisters were well known for singing throughout the county She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Holt, parents, Roy and Bernice Reed Holt, brothers, Glen, Hoover, Byrl, Edwin, and Alvin Holt, sister, Lavora Henry. Survivors include her sons, Gary Dale (Kathy) Holt, David (Robin) Holt, Michael (Lesa) Holt, Patrick (Jennifer) Holt; grandchildren, Amanda (J.W.) Hale, Anthony (Amanda) Holt, Heather (Chad) Williams, Candace (Travis) Grimmer, Mariah (Josh) Stewart, Lindsey Holt, Logan Holt, Lucas Holt, Lance Holt, and Leah Holt; sister, Roella Holt, and sister-in-law, Estelle Holt. 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to Dr. David Kickliter for many years of health care. Funeral services will be held at Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Samples officiating. The family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home on Sunday February 17, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church on Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at the Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home is honored to serve the Holt family.
