William D. "Bill" Russell Sr., age 82, of Newport, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Lillie Mae Russell.Survivors include his wife Andra Russell, daughters Debra McAnally (William) of Atoka, TN, Sheila Brown (Mark) of Atoka, TN, Diana Young (John) of Dyersburg, TN, Becky Selfridge (Clay) of Knoxville, and Jennifer Strange (Chad) of Newport, sons William D. Russell Jr., of Middleton, TN, Gary Watson of Lake Cormorant, MS, and William "Andy" Russell (Annie) of Arlington, TN, 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter, sisters Jean Schocke of Moscow, TN and Carol Phillips (Mike) of Bristol, TN, special friends Charles Bishop (Judy), Diane Starnes, Bill Cothran, James Elam, Sidney Cullum, James Timbs, and Clifford Cline.As his request, he will be cremated and services will be announced later.Brown Funeral Home is honored to serve the Russell family.
