Zelma Hurst Lane, 85, of Swannsylvania Community, went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2013. She was born January 2, 1928 in Dandridge, TN.She attended the Dutch Bottom Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.Zelma was preceded in death by her husband John C. Lane, daughter Mary Ann Lane, parents Floyd and Martha Hurst, sisters Will (Frank) Hall, Lou (Ambrose)Samples, Kate (Red) Gibson, Gussie (Dozier) Turner, brothers Joshua and George Hurst, granddaughter Julie Lane Ivy.Survivors include children Jerry G (Karen) Lane, Edna (Rev. Robert)Samples, Larry (Gina) Lane, Clyde Lane, Jack (Teresa) Lane, grandchildren Deborah (Rev, Howard) Bloomer, Christopher (Patti) Lane, Darrell (Sarah) Lane, Katelynn Lane, McKenzie Lane, Ariel Lane, Great-grandchildren Crystal Lane, Brianna Bloomer, Chase Lane, Elizabeth K. Lane, John E. Lane and Caleb Lane.Brother Fred (Marie) Hurst, sister Mary Elizabeth Lane and sister-in-law Dorothy Hurst and several nieces and nephews.A special thanks to the staff of Life Care Center of Jefferson City for their service the past three years.Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barry Warren and Rev. Mike Hensley officiating.Family will receive friends from 5 - 8 prior to the service.Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Swannsylvania Church Cemetery.Brown Funeral Home is honored to serve the Lane family.
