Ms. Deborah Ann” Sarge” Barnes

Deborah A Barnes, age 62 passed away Memorial Day, May 27, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was lovingly known by her family as "Dude". She was an LPN for 24 years specializing in Wound Care. She was known by her medical family and the residents she cared for as " Sarge". Deborah was a veteran having served in the US Navy. She was a member of Allen's Missionary Baptist Church.
Deborah was preceded in death by her grandparents, Omer "Red" and Zella Phillips, Lora and Loyd Barnes; parents, Kathleen and Charles "Trent" O'Dell, and Robert Barnes; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Messer and Buck Kelly. And her precious grandson, Ian Trent Webb, whom she was so anxious to see again.
She is survived by her daughter, Mirinda (Rindy) Webb and husband, Justin; granddaughters Ariana and Phoebe Webb; sisters, Vanessa Messer, Louneil (Billy) Williams, Karen Kelly, Lenora (Jan Palmer) Barnes, David O'Dell, and Robert (Tracy) Barnes Jr.
Also, nieces, nephews and friends, too many to list. She never met a stranger and her love was unlimited. Doris and Danny Taylor, she loved you very much and relied on your love, support and especially your prayers.
Thank you, Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice, for helping Deborah be at home with her family in her final days. That meant the world to her and to us.
The funeral service will be held 7:00 P.M. Friday evening May 31, 2024 in the Costner-Maloy & Brown Funeral Chapel with Rev. Leon Large and Rev. Doug Messer officiating.
Military honors will be provided by Newport American Legion Post 41.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Friday at Costner-Maloy & Brown prior to the service.
