Mrs. Dorothy West Joines' Obituary
Dorothy West Joines passed away September 19, 2011. She was a native of Cookeville, TN and a graduate of Carson-Newman College, Jefferson City, TN. Dorothy retired from education after 27 years teaching in Greene, Jefferson, and Cocke Counties.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years Rev. Randall Joines, Morristown, TN; children: Jan (Steve) Stelzman, Morristown, TN; Gary (Barbara) Joines, Wears Valley, TN; and Deborah (Ron) Wolfe, Morristown, TN; grandchildren Tammy Brown Harness, Centerville, OH; Randall (Katherine) Brown, Nashville, TN; Travis (Carissa) Joines, Winston-Salem, NC; Tanya (Adam) Smith, Dalton, GA; Larry (Christy) Headla, Knoxville, TN; Michael Headla, Sevierville, TN; Caroline Wolfe, Peach Tree City, GA; Brian Wolfe, Jasper, GA; and Preston (Misty) Pierce, Knoxville, TN; great-grandchildren: Bryce, Chase, and Blakely Harness, Centerville, OH; Paxton and Bryant Brown, Nashville, TN; Elliot, Edie, Maggie, Audrey, and Isaac Joines, Winston-Salem, NC; Mia and Callie Smith, Dalton, GA; and Abigail Pierce, Knoxville, TN; brother Kenneth (Mona) West, Cookeville, TN; and sister Jo Thompson, Hixson, TN.
The family extends great appreciation to the Emeritus at Terrace Estates’ staff and Tracy Thayer with Amedisys Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Joines requested that all donations in her memory be made to Samaritan’s Purse, P. O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Grace Baptist Church, Newport,TN. Dr. Clarence Gresham will conduct a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Van Zee, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, will welcome and lead in prayer. Private interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Jefferson City, TN.
